Before the existence of SCARM, a good design of a model train in three dimensions was a task suitable only for professionals due to the difficulty involved. However, the simplicity of this program allows anyone to do so.

Its system is based on CAD, so the quality of the results is maximum. The tools can be used easily, although mastering them requires a lot of practice.

With the functions included in SCARM it is possible to create both trains and tracks and all their elements: bridges, bifurcations, and so on. The integrated display reproduces the designs in three dimensions with maximum fidelity.
